LARGE SCALE CONTEMPORARY ART

Laura Sallade specializes in large scale art commissions which bring intrinsic value to the space while also considering logistics. These site-specific works can be found in hospitality settings such as hotels, airports, or universities. The multi-paneled aspect creates a compelling visual experience, while also addressing the practical concerns of shipping and installation. Projects are selected where values align. “Lucida”

Silver on etched glass, 18 panels

43.25”H x 60”W

The Charles Library Art Collection is a gift of Dennis Alter, curated by Susanna Gold. Each piece in the collection was chosen to compliment the elegant and soaring language of the library’s architecture, designed by the internationally renowned architectural firm Snøhetta, and realized in partnership with Stantec.

“Lucida” was expertly selected and placed on the fourth floor of the Charles Library. Facing a wall of floor to ceiling windows, this multi-panel installation reflects the sky, the tips of the neighboring buildings, and the spacious library it inhabits. “Horizon Curve” was created in collaboration with Madison Art Consulting for The Atlantic Aviation Airport. Complimenting the light and modern style of the space, these nine circular works were created to encapsulate the view from a plane, with the curvature and color palette embodying an abstracted expression of the sky right before or after sunset. Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island

“Birdseye Marsh”

Silver & Glass

132”W x 65”H

Created in partnership with DAC Art Consulting, and in consideration of this Ritz Carlton’s traditional style, this three panel installation was inspired by the local landscape. The composition is abstracted from the marshlands which surround this iconic hotel, and set Amelia Island apart. Through an aqueous chemical process, silver was deposited onto fifteen glass panels which were then adhered to three architectural panels with an epoxy lamination process. This process makes both a cohesive composition and essentially turns the panels into safety glass. For more information, please reach out through the contact page or email Laura@LauraSallade.com
